SEISMIC HAZARDS ASSESSMENT |
The objective of TRI/CON's services in connection with performance of a Seismic Hazards Assessment is to provide to parties with an interest in the property, information on the potential seismic hazards at the site. The elements of a Seismic Hazards Assessment include:
- A description of site geologic hazards such as the presence of vaulting, potential or soil liquefaction, seismic-induced landsliding and ground rupture and expected level of ground shaking, all based upon available information
- Estimates of Probable Maximum Loss (PML) due to earthquake damage. The level of PML analysis could range from the simplest level requiring the minimum of amount site specific data and minimal effort to a higher level requiring site geotechnical data, structural information regarding the building, observations of the building, and increased effort
If more reliable information regarding expected performance of the building is deemed appropriate, analyses beyond that described above may be warranted. Such analyses could include comprehensive review of building plans and field confirmation of "as-built" conditions; evaluation of the load resisting elements of the building; evaluation of compliance with current building code and preparation of estimates of probable costs to upgrade to current code.Back to Range of Services
